Keeping The Name Strong

In the PJHL its not uncommon to see the name Padgham near the top of scoring leaders for defensemen. Or hearing the name thrown around in a conversation about top overall defensemen in the PJHL. But what is uncommon is seeing two Padgham’s near the top of scoring.

Kodiaks rookie defensemen Davin Padgham is 2nd in league scoring amoung defensemen (6G,23A,29P). Six points behind older brother Brock (Mission City Outlaws) who holds onto the number 1 seed with 8G,27A,35P. But with time left in the season you can almost be sure Davin will make a run at his brothers scoring spot. Davin is having a more successful rookie year then his older brother who only tallied 9 points in his rookie campaign. Kodiaks D-line is chalked full of rookies (5 of 7 are in their first year in the PJHL) but none have excelled quite like Davin. Of course all the rookies this year are impressing whether with their ability to read a play or rush the puck. But Padgham seems to be relied upon on the most. Padgham has shown he’s able to contend with opponents top lines in both the offensive and defensive zone.

Standing at 5’11 and weighing 180 lbs. Padgham has shown prowess while engaging in physical play and is never afraid to step up and make a big hit. From the broadcast booth it’s easy to see when Padgham has found his next victim and as soon as he locks on you know that the crowd and the bench will erupt shortly after. At just 17 years old there is no telling what the rest of his PJHL career holds, but you can bet it involves bone jarring hits, heavy slapshots, and a lot of chirping.
